Web Design Myths
Net Magazine asked followers on Twitter to submit any web design myths they wanted busted:
Got a web design myth you want busted? Let us know and we'll print the best tweets in the mag!

I took this to mean web development, not just design, and went on a bit of a tear:
@netmag That there is an 'alt' *tag* when it's an attribute. That meta keywords matter. That you can use <h#> out of order.

@netmag That there is no scroll and that there is a scroll. That window size stats matter as much as viewport stats. That users don't print.
— Adrian Roselli (@aardrian) September 16, 2015
@netmag That blind users don't surf. That all disability is vision related. That we don't all acquire disabilities as we age or wipe out.
— Adrian Roselli (@aardrian) September 16, 2015
@netmag That libraries and/or frameworks are a good default starting point. That other developers know better. That you know better.
— Adrian Roselli (@aardrian) September 16, 2015
@netmag That anyone can afford to attend a conference. That speakers know everything. That it hasn't already been solved a hundred times.
— Adrian Roselli (@aardrian) September 16, 2015
@netmag That there is only one version of Chrome for Android. That user agent sniffing works. That IE6 is truly dead. Same for IE7 & IE8.
— Adrian Roselli (@aardrian) September 16, 2015
@netmag That low contrast text is awesome. That links don't need underlines. That nobody navigates with a keyboard. That large window = kbd.
— Adrian Roselli (@aardrian) September 16, 2015
@netmag That hamburgers make sense to all users. That touch areas are easy to hit. That "dynamic" means motion. That 2MB pages are ok.
— Adrian Roselli (@aardrian) September 16, 2015
@netmag That the spacer GIF was invented by David Siegel and not dozens of folks in shops around the world at the same time.

Based on this feedback, it seems like some readers of the magazine might like to see this stuff addressed:
@aardrian A great list. I would love it if @netmag would bust these myths comprehensively. As a respected magazine, web devs listen to them.

The latest issue of Net Magazine arrived and none of mine made the cut:
